Revolution XT is the latest development of Tannoy’s most affordable loudspeaker to feature the world renowned Dual Concentric™ driver. The XT is a true ‘revolution’ of the series, featuring an all-new ‘Dual’ with some of the most significant and fundamental design changes in the driver’s near 60-year history. While retaining Revolution’s familiar trapezoid cabinet shape, wide-ranging changes to Revolution XT’s internal design make for a completely new and unique loudspeaker concept.
The Revolution XT 6 is a mid-size stand or bookshelf mounted loudspeaker that represents a ‘purist’ Tannoy configuration. Using a single Omnimagnet Dual Concentric driver, the XT 6 delivers pure point-source articulation and realises the additional smoothness and bass extension of the new driver design. Combining a 150mm (6.00”) multi-fibre cone with a 25mm Linear PEI dome and benefitting from the Torus-Ogive waveguide the Revolution XT 6 driver is coupled with a crossover using low loss laminated core inductors and audiophile components throughout.
The smaller of two prestigious floorstanding models in the Revolution XT range, the Revolution XT 6F is a compact loudspeaker that delivers a dynamic full-range performance. Its 150mm (6.00”) Omnimagnet Dual Concentric driver is augmented with a matching 150mm (6.00”) bass driver to deliver LF extension down to below 40Hz. Both the Omnimagnet Dual, with its 25mm Linear PEI dome HF unit and Torus-Ogive waveguide, and the auxiliary driver feature a multi-fibre cone with rubber surround and a 44mm edge wound voice coil to ensure seamless bass performance.
The flagship revolution XT 8F is a substantial floorstanding loudspeaker offering the scale and dynamics of real live music in a loudspeaker that looks every bit as good as it sounds. The combination of a 200mm (8.00”) Dual Concentric driver and a 200mm (8.00”) auxiliary bass driver is a configuration that has found exceptional success throughout Tannoy’s illustrious history and the Revolution XT 8F builds on these strengths. The new Omnimagnet Dual further refines bass performance with its linear LF response and exceptional timbre accuracy, while its new HF section with Torus-Ogive waveguide delivers smooth HF extension with outstanding imaging. annoy’s timeless Kensington Gold Reference continues the marque’s heritage of blending time-honoured values with cutting edge performance. Its bold cabinet of finest mahogany plywood is extensively braced to house Tannoy’s flagship 250mm (10.00”) Gold Reference Dual Concentric™ driver. It’s high-efficiency compression driver with 50mm (2.00”) heat-treated dome, Alnico motor system and new, stiffer cone materials create outstanding dynamics, spacious sound staging and exceptional musical articulation.
The Revolution XT Mini brings the benefits of Tannoy’s latest Omnimagnet Dual Concentric driver technology to an ultra-compact bookshelf loudspeaker. Boasting an easy-to-place 3.4 litre cabinet, the XT Mini further refines Tannoy’s purist point-source philosophy by using a single Omnimagnet DC driver. The smallest driver in this Omnimagnet series mates a 20mm (0.79”) Linear PEI dome HF unit and Torus-Ogive waveguide with a 100mm (4.00”) multi-fibre mid/LF cone. The result is a loudspeaker capable of delivering outstanding imaging and class-leading musical articulation in the smallest listening environment.
